Spoiler lifts on one side only
hey guys, anyone here ever come across this issue? in which when the spoiler is activated, only one side lifts. would appreciate educated guesses in cost to fix (parts/labor [how long it would take to solve]) or even if this is an easy job for someone to do themselves.

Welcome to the boards.
Just search Google for what you’re look for then add “Rennlist 997” in the search.
This is a mature forum with 15+ years of posts, chances are someone else already has faced this.
Found this that might help amongst other threads.

thanks fellow atx man. I did search, perhaps I should have been more specific to it being faulty to one side only -- but I can see why such a distinction is not necessarily needed from the other posts.

I'll bet the motor mechanism and lift arms are the same ones as the 996 (or at least they both operate very similar). I had the reverse issue last year on my 996 where one side would not fully retract. There is a gear with teeth inside the plastic housing of the motor assembly. Take a look at these posts.

There are also cable ends that connect to each of the lower rams. Those unbolt and disassemble pretty easily as well. If one side is working then the motor is functioning. So it should either be a stripped teeth where the gear engages or disconnection at the ram where it raises and lowers. It's pretty straighforward once you get into it.
