Just a quick ask… this bolt that holds the battery with the bracket, is there suppose to be a nut underneath the hole? This just spins.
I have a soft clunk coming from the cowl area and trying to rule things out

The PO must have installed a larger battery. as that's a H8-sized one. For the smaller H6 battery originally shipped with the car, the nut is welded in place, but Porsche neglected to do the same for the H8 spaced hole. Take the bolt to a hardware store and get a stainless replacement if you can't fish the other one out from under the battery holding plate.
Well yes and no, the larger H8 battery is installed by quite a few folk as these cars are battery beasts. I recently did the same - not fussed over a few extra pounds but like the extra resilience that size gives.
Encountered the same a couple weeks ago at the track no less. Bracket and screw floating around the compartment and battery left totally unsecured by the PO of the car. So much for my self tech.. All the other holes in the tray for other sizes are threaded underneath except the last one. WTF?!
Anyway, I found a nut that fit the bolt and barely threaded it under the tray with the bracket pre-attached. With a little encouragement, I got the bracket over the foot of the battery and then used a narrow wrench to hold the nut under the tray while I tightened down the bolt as shown in pic. Note the couple washers underneath the bolt head to take up space since there is not much room underneath for the bolt to extend. Next time I’ll go for one size smaller battery.
Was yours making an annoying rattle over softer bumps? I kept thinking it was the top hat bolt on the new coilovers… only this is a noise like that but I can hear it not feel it.. chit I hope this is it.
this noise I’m hearing didn’t happen until I installed the coilovers, however as lofty as stock is I can see these being part of that chassis noise

As jayzbird shows, the simple solution is to just slide a nut underneath and hold it with the open end wrench - that's what I did too. Super easy. I have Optima yellow top H6s in both my 997s. In mine that has a new starter and a custom battery cable to starter and alternator, the car turns over like it has an IMI high-torque starter in it. Going to do the same setup in my wife's car as she has a slow crank and likely needs a new starter (already has the OEM upgraded cable in it).

Miraculously my nut just stayed in place … had to use a few washers since the screw I had was longer
you’d think they could come up with a less than prehistoric way to mount these… since there all headed towards EV anyway… 🤷♂️

Same issue here. I pulled the tray and welded a nut on the bottom side.
