Good idea welding a nut.. I can see once when a new battery is needed I might need a strong magnet to fish that out…. I will get an H6 next tho

Just a thought ...

Pick up a 1/8" by 3/4" by any size piece of metal from Home Depot (or elsewhere) .

Cut it to 6" in length.

Drill a #7 hole an inch from one end.

Tap that hole to 1/4-20.

Find a 1/4-20 bolt and washer from your hardware drawer.

Slide the plate into position from the front side of the battery.

Use the bolt from your drawer to fasten the battery bracket into position.

No nut to drop and lose, no welding in the car, no screwing around.

Warning ... The above is written from my visual memory of the battery compartment. Required sizes may be a bit different.

Good write up…

the whole reason I ran across this loose bolt on the bracket was because I’m getting this odd soft rattle sound… almost sounded like a loose top hat bolt on the coilover…. That wasn’t it tho.. check all the suspension… seems tight … then I discovered I could hear it not feel it and sounded more in the middle under the cowl… that’s when I discovered the brackets basically sitting there… it’s been raining for two days so I’ll try things out tomorrow 🤞🏻
