Default Broken steering wheel cover

Hi

Friend of mine has a 997 with a broken steering wheel.
You can see the picture below, the upper plastic part was broken.
Has anybody experienced this problem?

That wheel looks "fatter" than a normal one. Wonder if a PO had it reworked and that's caused the issue. Seems like a good opportunity for him to have a wheel redone to his liking - I'd recommend DCT Carbon or Dallas Custom. Probably going to be challenging to find a used Terracotta replacement as it's not a popular interior color.

Wow - odd but i've seen some drivers do some strange things, combine it with heat and you have an issue.

You can always go with a black one as they are easier to find or as mentioned have it rewrapped or remanufactured.

From what I also recall, you should be able to use 06-08 Boxster / Cayman wheel as they should be the same...(but confirm)

Check this out :
TEILE.COM | 911 997 - 403B Steering wheel, steering column

Only one Terracota but $125... will need to swap over the stuff...

Few leads for black ones...
