They are 60mm.
I'm sorting through the same issues with the spring binding on B16's on 997.2.
1. can you confirm the spring ID is 60mm?
2. are you all packing the bearing with grease? any recs on type/brand?
3. was 1 set at the bottom of the (main) spring enough to resolve the issue?

I greased mine with synthetic waterproof grease during install 10 years ago. Haven't given them much thought since but my car also doesn't see much use and hardly any rain use.

They are working well without any issues. No grease is needed for the Swift thrust sheets. I recall the from and rear springs have different diameters for the B16s on my RWD GTS. Petza had his thrust bearings installed for over 10 years without issues so you can go either way. Measure your springs before ordering the bearings or thrust sheets.

The shop i’m going to have my B16s installed at, who says they have quite a bit of experience installing B16 mentions coil binding will only happen at full lock and even then only in colder weather.

Can anyone explain why some (who don’t use anything like thrust bearing or sheets) don’t complain about this issue while others do?

I ended up working through the issue directly with Bilstien, and even they couldn’t provide an answer as to why it’s an issue on some cars and not others. With my car, it certainly was not at full lock, nor was it particularly cold. What was happening with mine is that the aluminium cap that you see at the top of the front shock, was actually binding on the metal hat that sits between the top of the shock and nut that holds the assembly together. The solution was to install an additional blue plastic shim (provided by Bilstien at no charge) between the bottom of that aluminium cap, and the top of the spring. That created just enough room so the cap wasn’t hitting the metal hat inside it anymore.

I didn't want to risk having to take apart my suspension due to binding so I added thrust sheets in the initial B16 install. It was a small expense to eliminate a known issue on some installs. No binding or noises here.
