Hi All,

Ive been on Rennlist for a while learning from all the amazing people here. A few weeks ago I fulfilled a lifelong dream and got my first 911. I picked up a 997.1 from someone who loved it but wasn’t a ‘car guy’ so it needs a bit of TLC. It also has a PASM fault which was known and the price was adjusted accordingly. I chose this car because it’s still awesome to drive, but the minor issues that need to be taken care of will also give me an opportunity to work on it and really make it my own.

I look forward to being part of the community and driving my new toy with my son, who is possibly even more thrilled than I am.

Excellent. Driving these cars is a dream made true for many of us. Having my 7 and 3 year old in the back is 10 times better!

Cool! Love the Lobster Forks! I just got a 997.1 a week ago and am still excited about it.

Tell us about your car.

I get giddy every time I walk into the garage, and am grinning even before I start it. I’ve loved these cars since I was a kid.

Its a 2006 C2S manual that’s done 160000kms (almost 100k miles). Seal grey over stone grey interior, sport chrono, factory short shifter,Bose with Bilstein B16 coil overs. It’s had 2 previous owners and is originally a Georgia car but was brought up to Canada Over a decade ago.

I’ve only owned it for a couple of weeks but doesn’t seem to burn any oil, had a clean PPI (complete with borescope) and clean CarFax report. My plans, after I figure out the PASM issue are a PCCM + and probably a DSC controller. It will be my DD in the summers and hibernate from Oct-April. It will also be a bit of a project car as I like to do my own wrenching for a lot of things. Already planning a thorough clay bar and paint correction polish. PCCM and back up camera will be a winter project to. For now, just loving driving it pretty much anywhere.

I also like that it’s an ‘06 as that minimised the risk of IMS issues, but more importantly has the weight activated airbag disable as my 9yr old co-pilot loves riding with me and often has shifting duty

Congrats. I’m in the market for a similar spec also in Canada. Do you mind PMing me the price or sharing here? Also who did your borescope?

Congratulations! Looks sharp and sounds like it's been well cared for.

STRONG recommendation to do the DSC box sooner than later. As many have said, it was probably the greatest dollar value upgrade I've done to my 2006 S cab, with the possible exception of the used PSE exhaust I found.

Wait! You can retrofit PSE? I would love to do that. I was looking for a car that had it but they are so hard to find. Will definitely be on the lookout for that. Would love to retrofit the auto dimming rear view mirror as well

2006 C2S manual with 100k miles. Runs great, pulls hard and corners like it’s on rails. But you guys all know that already

PSE exhaust cans are an easy retrofit. In my case, I did NOT bother buying the OEM or aftermarket parts to run the valves. It sounds just fine for me in Always On mode and I didn't want to deal with the install hassles OR (more important) the funky way the .1 Sport mode and PSE interact.

It's great to hear that the borescope was clean at 100k miles! You're right about the later IMS. My car is a 2005 and has the smaller bearing. I'm booked to have it upgraded along with a new clutch and RMS in a few weeks.

You mentioned that the car is showing a PASM fault. Could that be because the previous owner put on non-PASM B16 coilovers?

These cars still feel like new at 100K miles! --->My 2006 C4 has 107K miles and feels/looks like new.
Enjoy!
