i was riding in my buddy's tesla the other day and he bought an additional display that had apple car play built in. i did some research and i saw there are some aftermarket that we could use. I already have a tooki which honestly sucks and a dension gateway. it streams audio ok. i was thinking of adding the displays to have apple car play. then when the audio would play it would switch over the GW500. I could also add a backup camera too. has anyone tried?

 

I got the 9XX installed, backup camera as well. It is better than our factory CarPlay in our Hyundai Sonata. All the applications on my iPhone are available on my CarPlay, Apple Music, Amazon music, or whatever. Phone, text messaging. Waze, Apple Maps, Google maps. All connected with Bluetooth on my iPhone. Loving it for a couple of years now.

 

If you have a 997.1 I would do the PCCM+ that Porsche just released.

If you are 997.2 NM Automotive or 9XX should do the trick.

 

Love my nm automotive. Easy to install. Backup cam just works.

 

Second the NM Unit, works well in my 09S

 

I’m a 997.1 so I’m quite limited.

 

PCCM+ from Porsche fixes that for ya.

 

NM audio is great on 997.2. Requires aux input to be compatible. Highly recommend.

 

Almost any aftermarket double DIN radio will give you what you want. I put an Alpine in mine but remember, if you have Bose, you will need a MOST adapter.
