yes, you are right and I do that now. That was my first time using my QJs. I did test it out and was pretty stable but nonetheless, I don’t use them that way now.

I am thinking about taking this on as well but I haven’t convinced myself yet.

Thank you! It went really smooth with no surprises but this is the easier of the two PDK services. This is just the differential side of the PDK which is a simple drain and refill. I did measure both - 3L exactly out and back in. The procedure shows letting it dribble out of the fill hole and sealing it back up.
I haven’t done the trans side yet. Thats the procedure where you replace the PDK oil pan and need PIWIS or a Foxwell to activate a fill procedure. I will be doing this one in the coming months.
Check out Pelican parts tutorial for the PDK oil changes. They make it look easy.

I recently changed the PDK diff fluid but it was coming up on the 6 year time for the PDK transmission fluid service. I used my Foxwell to activate the transmission fill mode. The only tricky part was warming up the transmission and filling to the point of overflow. The PDK warmed up really quick and I almost past the upper end of the temperature range. I changed my wife’s Q5 DSG recently and it took 20 min to reach temp. The PDK only took a few minutes.
The old pan was manufactured Sept 2018. Almost 4 qts drained out and roughly the same amount went back in.

I’ve been thinking about adding CarPlay. I ended up getting the Mr12v version. The tech, service reputation and online tutorials nudged me toward that brand. Roman is the real deal. When you call, he picks up. Very helpful with a question I had.
Install was straight forward with the exception of removing the unit. The locking cams were not working properly so I ended up having to squeeze the tabs and rock it out.
Works great and I’m happy with the decision.
