There appears to be a manual cable for the engine trunk. I located this laying loosely in the left side of the engine bay. Is there a guide that this cable should route through? I suppose you should be able to access this cable from the exterior of the body somewhere below, I do not know. Trunk lid release cable - Where does it route too? Cable routed to engine trunk latch
Some people place this cake on the outer bottom edge of the left taillight and secure it to the body with weak tape so they can use a small screwdriver to pull it out (for use) should it ever be needed. But ...
I prefer to remove the rear license plate and bracket, run the cable through the hole directly under the latch (hard to see that hole), route the cable down and out the hole that is behind the license plate bracket, spool it up securing it with tie straps, and then put the license bracket back on. If you ever need to use the cable, you'll need a Phillips screwdriver, but you know you'll have access to the cable when you need it.
Mine has been extended and run down between the exhaust heat shield and rear bumper so I can access it without removing anything since I know where it is.
Petza, I like that idea. What did you use to extend the release cable? Ill have to give it a look.
Just a piece of uncoated wire since it's near the exaust so the insulation wouldn't melt off. Twisted a small look into the end so I can pull it with my fingers and no tools.

Thanks Petza. I have a section of bicycle brake cable left over from doing the emergency frunk release mod that I’ll add on to extend the engine lid release cable.
Where is that cable supposed to terminate? (The loop you pull) Mine is sort of routed a place that doesn't make sense from inside or outside the engine compartment.

Exactly and why it's one more piece of Porsche engineering we can correct. It either terminates inside the corner that covered by the taillight (you have to be able to open the decklid to remove the taillight to get to the end LOL) or it terminates in the engine compartment LOL
Relocated my emergency engine lid release from behind the rear license plate to Petza914's suggestion dropping it between the rear heat shield and the bumper. Extended the factory cable length with a small section of bike brake cable.
End loop of the factory cable routed to the opening just behind the wire harness in the photo below
Removed the left tail lamp assembly (two T25 torx screws), shined flashlight inside the hole next to the lower slot where the tail light mounts and you will see the end loop of the factory cable. Use a coat hanger to pull it up through the hole so you can connect the cable extension to the end loop (I used zip ties).
Feed the loose end of the cable extension back into the hole and push it down into the small gap you will see toward the rear in the bottom of the cavity. The extended cable end will appear near the left exhaust tip.
Here you can see how the cable extension is attached to the end loop of the factory cable
I wound the cable extension into a small loop and secured the loop with zip ties to keep it from unwinding then pushed it up between the heat shield and rear bumper so it can be easily reached.
Again, kudos to Petza914 for this simpler solution.
