My 997.2 door lock has been broken for a while and I just stumbled across this thread.

Has anyone tried 3D printing this plastic piece yet? Would certainly be cheaper than buying used or new door handles off eBay.

I wouldn't try it personally. For the $60 or so that an ebay door handle costs... I'm not willing to design a complex part and then be prepared to get back into the door several times when versions 1,2 and 3 don't work.
I've got an ebay door handle I'll make you a deal on if you want to go that route. I assumed that my plastic flex-link was broken, but in my case the door latch was replaced and not assembled correctly.

Thanks for the offer, but I got very lucky. Finally had a chance to get to the car and the doohickey was misaligned. My lock is functional again.

I’m glad you got it fixed!
That was also my problem. I bought a door handle, took the door apart and found that the latch had been replaced but not assembled correctly..,

I didn't catch that comment in the e-bay description on the 997 handle, I'll contact him. Thanks!
Long shot but were you able to replace the lock? Having a similar issue...

Is your problem the lock cylinder or is your problem the flexible white nylon part?
The white nylon part is easily replaced. The lock is not.
Used door handles are cheap on eBay. If your problem is the white nylon part, just buy a 911/boxster door handle assy and swap out the white nylon part!
If your problem is the lock… break out the checkbook…
