Default Continental ExtremeContact Sport02

It is time for a tire upgrade. After 2 years on the prior owner's Ventus Evo2, the rears are to the wear bars. I debated just replacing the rears since the fronts are 7/32, but I think I'm ready for a new experience.

I went back and forth between the MPS4S and these tires. Read as many reviews as I could (based on the first gen CES), with the overall consensus being that they are not better than the Michelins but are a solid contender and place second in nearly every category. Overall, seems like less sportiness and comparable comfort.

Priced them out, and including my CC giving me 7% CB and $70 manufacturer rebate, I can get them for 25% less than PS4S. I've decided to take the plunge. They should be in next week.

Contis

Looks like it's the PS5 only for now, will launch in Mar 2023, and no date on the 4S replacement.

From their website..

“The Premium Touch sidewall design creates a sleek, matte-black aesthetic with a velvety micro texture.”

Who touches their sidewalls ??

To the OP I have run both on various cars my biggest observation is that the Conti’s seem to get noisy as you load them up through a corner more than the PS4 but it’s a great tire all round..

Marketing vomit.

BTW, they have them in 295/35-18!

Thread drift!

Politics aside, how well does your car run on diesel?

Further afield could be $6/gal is a deal.

Got them put on Monday. If the weather stays warm, hoping to take the car out in the next 1-2 days.

Will keep you posted.

Smile Continentals with 18" wheels

I've had the Continentals for about four years and about 14000 miles (2005 - 997.1) and they've been great. Mounted on 18" wheels they replaced the 19" wheels with Michelins (that still have). Handling and comfort are better for this 148# driver.

How you liking the tires?

This tire is the only 300+TW tire that’s in 295/35-18, so I am interested to see feedback.

Thanks to all the CA rain, haven’t been able to push them yet. Overall, can say the ride is firm but not harsh. Hoping for an opening in the weather and dry roads next week.
