Default 997.2 Bose Subwoofer ONLY upgrade?

I’ve got the Bose sub out of the car and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to improve sound of the suv while I have it out. I don’t have the time or budget to do a full speaker and amp update on the car but if I could get rid of the muddy base of the sub I’d consider that.

without the sub I find the sound much more crisp, albeit with much less low end (obviously).

I know @Petza914 has a thread on his audio upgrades but not sure if I could do just the sub without gutting the rest.

The sub is a completely separate entity from the rest of the system and receives normal audio inputs, so yes, you could change just the sub and not touch the rest of it.

I initially did the focal mods which replaces all the speakers and upgrades the door speakers to 8”. That sounded really good to me.

Then I did the subs and it definitely improved the low end.

6 speed has a good write up. Ryenm3 if I recall. Can google focal upgrade.

I’ll try and find it on 6 speed.

if I could just change the amp or speakers within the sub enclosure and get a significant improvement I’d consider it.

Link to the other thread. Long story short is we can use these low cost replacement speakers and get some decent improvement in bass quality without changing anything else.
