Wiper arm stuck?
Does anyone know why I'm having such a hard time removing my wiper arms? I'm trying to replace the cowl and seems pretty straight forward. I pull the wiper away from the car and that thing won't budge at all. I sprayed the tapered shaft with a little wd 40 and still have no luck. It seems quite easy in a lot of the videos.
Thanks, I appreciate everyones time.

Mine were tough to get off the first time. I used one or more of my wider nylon trim tools (example below) to carefully work the arm off of the shaft without any damage:

I am in the same boat, it's frustrating as I've used heat, brute force, and few other tricks..... this thing is stuck it seems, only option is wiper tool or puller, i'll reattempt in few weeks and let you know.

It's pretty normal to need to use a small puller, they often get stuck on there.. Check with your local auto parts stores, many of them will loan pullers for free.
WD40 is pretty ineffective as a penetrant, I'd suggest PB Blaster or Kroil.

I got lucky they had a small puller at advanced auto 5 minutes from my house. I don't why the tutorials always say pull away from the windshield, with the puller or no puller it seems like laying it flat is best. Thanks for the quick response, jobs done and it's black again instead of the faded gray look. Huge difference seeing how big it is on the car.

Shaft and wiper are tapered. You need a forked wiper arm puller.
When my brother had his older BMW M5, he took it in for service and had a rattle when it came back. He was visiting in town and we traced it to the front engine bay area. Found the tech had left a factory BMW wiper puller tool in the engine bay. He said he had zero use for it, so I put it in my tool arsenal and have probably used it 10 times since then. Pops them right off.
