My old 997.1 Carrera S came with Sport Design wheels. I was neutral about them until I got them painted gloss black. Totally changed the character of the wheels and car.

A few more pictures and updates: (I have a feeling this is going to turn into a build/update thread)

Mileage: 18551
- Oil Change to DT40 5w40
- L/N Magnetic Drain Plug
- BMC Drop In-Filter
- New OEM Floor Mats
- Rennline Phone Mount w/ Wireless Charging
- New Fuel Cap OEM (Faux Aluminum)
- 911 badge updated to (992) Style (992-853-670-041)

Plan to drive her until the cold weather sets in, then bore-scope --> new plugs/coil packs (due to age). Any other preventative maintenance required.
Slight vibration (steering wheel) 70+mph, I have a feeling one of the front wheels need to be rebalanced.

Air-Filter replacement was a 15-20min job with a belt/accessory/water-pump inspection.

Air-Filter replacement on my 991 was 2-3hr job...

Stunning, congratulations!

And about the filter in 991. There are no words..

I’ll ask-

If you had to keep only one, and the goal was driver fun, engagement, and not a daily driver, what would you pick?

Let’s assume both cars have CarPlay retrofitted, as that’s an easy enough addition to the 997.

I had a 991.1 base PDK, sold to get a manual, but now I’m leaning heavily in 997.2 territory for better gearing.

I want to be able to enjoy curvy roads and spirited drives, which is something I couldn’t do in the 991.1 PDK. Geared way too tall, was always in the wrong gear and had very little driver engagement IMO.

That is tough question, have you had some seat time in a 991.2?

The 997 is more engaging/raw but that most of that may be attributed to the transmission (Manual VS PDK) but if I had to pick one, the 997 is slower, but more rewarding to drive. I would probably pick the 997 just simply because it is for a lack of a better word, more analog than the 991.2.

Make me drive on the highway for 2+ hrs or use as a daily, it would be the the 991.2 all day.
