$450K 911 !!!! Whaaaa???
2009 C2S 182K miles
Unbelievable. I stopped into Hennessy Porsche north of Atlanta the AM for a local club event.... on the showroom floor, they had a used Speedster for more than $450,000 ! ! ! World Trade Federation!! I think this car went for about $290K.... but even this is just stupid. Really?
What is it with this car? I was chatting with another and he noted the dealership sells someone a car at MSRP per Porsche dealer requirment, the dealer contacts the owner a few months later, buys the car back at a big premium (the owner makes money) and they mark it up further on their showroom floor.
BTW, the car is not shown on their website for some reason... at least I could not find it. What is going on? This is madness.
Peace

A couple years ago I was in my local dealer and noticed a perfect low mileage 2011 GT3 RS 4.0 sitting in the small show room in the back. It was sold - most likely before it was received from Porsche NA in Atlanta (allegedly an executive car). No idea what it sold for, but probably in that neighborhood. Maybe more. That's nothing for some folks. If they can't get the asking price they can always give someone a "deal".

That's the Ferrari dealership racket coming now to Porsche.

In 2018, low mileage Speeders were going for $300K:
And in 2020, the Sport Classics were going for £300K...
...
Vastly beyond my budget, but no question these low production rate models command a premium...
Karl.

I never particularly liked the speedster version of the 997. Love the 991 version, liked the 964 version, and my favorites are the 993 conversions that Porsche never offered, but that's just dumb money for something that's going to drive like many other 997s.

Some folks are pulling their money out of the stock market and investing in cars, for their collection. It may not be a bad choice as it is less volatile than the NASDAQ.
Here in Raleigh, we have a Maserati MC20 (Base Model) being offered for $400K, which is almost the double of what the owner paid for it.
Why not? Insanity is everywhere, in all aspects of the current American life.
That will pass, when enough folks have to spend all their savings in medical treatments to preserve their life, after taking the needle(s) in their arms.

I have a friend who sold his 1200 mile urus to his neighbor for 50K over sticker. Look at any guy who bought a nice 992 turbo S. At one point they were all up 80-100k. The one that's going to break the bank in a few years is the 992 sport classic, turbo and manual.
