New head unit caused airbag light to go on
Any clue why this might happen? I replaced the head unit, which involved tapping in to the +12V accessory wire, the illumination wire, and the parking brake wire. It also involved running the BOSE fiber optic cable through a converter box to the new head unit.
The old PCM 3.0 head unit was bricked and was actually unplugged from all connections for a week or so. The airbag light only came on after I fired up the car with the new head unit.
How do I get this light off? I can't imagine I did anything to actually mess up the airbag system

You shouldn't have done anything to upset the Airbag light to come on. Maybe a silly question but have you driven the car and the light is staying on?
As recommended turn it off and then see if it comes back.

Most likely the airbag light in the centre console. Have it reset.

If that new head unit is improperly tied into the canbus network, it can create odd behavior of things on the network. Any other weird behavior from the tach or other warning lights coming on and off?
