Default 997.1 C2 Exhaust Tips

Afternoon all! I'm seeing a bunch of old threads but nothing all that new or definitive so starting a new one -- what is a good dual exhaust tip (just the tip!) for a 997.1 C2? I know the diameter is different than the S, so OEM S tips won't work. I am really just looking for something that looks and fits like the OEM tips though -- nothing carbon, nothing that is blingy-er than the OEM S tips, just basically is there something out there that looks OEM and fits the C2?

Thanks in advance, and if it's a nice day for you go for a drive!

Just get OEM S tips and add a little ring spacer to make them fit. In my opinion those look the best compared to aftermarket alternatives. I also saw someone install 991 oem single outlet tips on a 997 c2 and they actually fit and looked really nice. Use the search function- several threads about it.

Thanks, I've read basically all the threads for 997 tips (usually use Google and search "site:rennlist.com blah blah") but good tip about the 991; have not seen that so this was a success

Mostly looking for updated thoughts, feelings, findings, whatever!

I too went down a rabbit hole trying to find some exhaust tips for my 997.2 C2 and have now come to appreciate the original single outlet tips. The OEM tips on the 997.2’s are actually really beefy and well built and I feel complement the rear end better than the dual outlet tips. The dual tips on 997.2’s were made a little shorter to clear the center pipe so I feel they look a little off when you see them from the side profile. And aftermarket all seem to look too big and tend to stick out too much; at least for my personal taste.

The Rennlist guy who added 991 tips is EMC2. He has a 997.2- so maybe these don’t fit the .1’s?

I purchased new Fabspeed tips in black last year. By summer they were discoloring. I sent Fabspeed photos and they agreed it was unusual and wanted me to send them back to be refinished. However, I no longer had my old tips so I wouldn’t have had any tips in the mean time. I told them this and they went silent after multiple emails. I would have appreciated an exchange. Not worth the money. So if you do go aftermarket, I would go with someone else.

Are those the same as you'd see on the 997.1?

I’m not sure if they are the same. Mine are painted in the satin black option.

See if Maxspeed Motorsports has anything. Their NHP stainless brand tips have been superb on my Cayenne since 2018 and are cheap by comparison to others offerings. Soul performance also seems to have less blingy options with more of a satin finish if you want to see what they have. Most of these will probably require the aforementioned spacer rings.

I bought these P-Tek Titanium ByPass Tips for $400 off a forum member last month, that used them for a week, but wife didnt like the louder tone after Muffler delete, (saves 40lbs).

I then was about to put them on my 997.1 Cab C2S, but wife was not crazy about the louder tone, so, mine are for sale as of today. $400, were $689, on sale new for $519 on website below.

I also bought the OEM Clamps too, $60 EA, you can have those for $50 EA too, otherwise will return to Porsche dealer...

I already have a Fabspeed x-pipe muffler delete so not sure these would work for me, but for fun do you have any pics of them on the car?

Both Fabspeed and Soul have great options. I have the Fabspeed Carbon tips and they look mint after 4 years. If you want an OE style without the pea shooter look of the factory S tips, the chrome ones from both manufactures would be a good option.

When they aren’t drooping, are nice and tight with bumper, and are clean, I actually prefer the base tips - IMO they suit it 997 carrera very well.

I would go OEM S tips if you did want twin.
