997.2 Manual gear ratios
I am wondering if Porsche changed the gear ratios by trim for the 997.2s? My understanding of the 997.2 gearing is here: Gear Ratio post. Does anyone know if S or GTS has any different gear ratios? or Did any of the options change the gear ratios?

I don't believe so and I looked into getting some different gears for my 997.2 4S. 2nd is too tall IMO. You would get different gear ratios in the GT3 and can get other gears for the Getrag gearbox in those. But the standard Aisin6 speed in the base-GTS cars is the same through the series.
My reason for digging into this was that I wanted to be able to keep the RPM a bit higher to keep variocam engaged on tight mountain hairpins where I live.

I agree that 2nd is way to tall... and 3rd and 4th. I think the ratios suck actually. I too looked into swapping out gears, but no one I could find made them. Only kits did the GT3 transmissions were out there. Darn
