I have a 2011 997.2 base Carrera. About 6 years ago I did a brake upgrade and sourced used 997.1 turbo brake calipers and rotors from LA dismantlers. They bolted right on without spacers. Only modification needed was brake lines from the hub bracket to the caliper which was pretty easy. Lots of brake line kits available. Also needed longer caliper bolts to reach the hub due to the larger diameter 350mm rotors. I don't recall what the bolt spacing was but remember it was different than the 997.2 carrera S and the same as the 997.1 Carrera S. And obviously the same all around as the 997.1 turbo. I also believe the 996 GT3 front was the same but not the rear.

The brake system in the base 997.2 is NOT shared with the 997.1/987.1, this is misleading info.

Sorry guys, I was looking at the incorrect caliper part number. I was looking at 997-351-421-00. According to the Porsche parts lists (get yours here), the 997.2 base Carrera left front brake caliper number is 997-351-421-0C or 997-351-421-0D (depending on year) and has been superseded by 9P1-615-123-H. It is shared with 718 Boxster/Cayman Base and T.

If you don't want to buy an assortment of mismatched parts from different vendors and try to piece something together, we have some fantastic and complete brake solutions for the 997 Base (and other trim levels). Our systems are thoroughly engineered and come complete with everything you need in one box. Our systems are larger than the OEM GT3 setup, they are better performers, and they are a completely bolt-on affair with simple hand tools. We have two different types of complete brake kits, Competition and Road. Our systems are designed to properly replicate the OEM brake torque at both ends of the car, so you don't have to worry about fouling up brake bias, ABS intrusion, etc. Our Competition Kit uses a 372x34mm front disc and our Road Kit uses a 380x36mm disc. If you don't want to invest in all four corners, some owners just go with our front Road Kit in black or red paint to match their rear OEM caliper color. Then they either run a 2-piece rear disc or factory rear disc. The fronts tend to take far more abuse, so that's where the greatest ROI is.

Full menu of AP Racing options for the 997.2 Base is here: https://www.essexparts.com/my-vehicl...02/Iron%20disc
Our menu for the 997.2 S, GTS trims here (we offer 2-piece AP Racing Discs to work with the OEM calipers for these trims): https://www.essexparts.com/my-vehicl...2S/Iron%20disc
