C4S Carrera Sport Rear Wheel and Spacer Question
I recently purchased an 08 C4S with the Carrera Sport Wheels and was considering adding some short wheel spacers to get a little more flush fitment, especially in the rear.
From what I've been reading, people tend to shy away from them with these wheels as they already have a 67ET and fill the fenders nicely.
However when I was measuring and determining what I could realistically add, I noticed that I seem to already be on wheel spacers in the rear.
Is this factory? I haven't had the chance yet to remove them and take a look.
I'd be a little shocked if they designed a wheel to fill the fenders that appears to need a ~15-20mm spacer. There's nothing on the front.

Your wheel is a 11.5” wide one, so keep that in mind.
My 19x11 et52 is pretty darn flush, so plug that into Willtheyfit.com and compare your size against that.

Your wheel sticks out another 15mm from mine -- but does that include the roughly 15mm spacer I have already???? Would I need to remove it and buy a ~25-30mm spacer?

Okay, I see there is a factory part for the S and 4S: 25 996 361 617 00 Spacer ring 17 MM
Is it safe to assume that if I want to go 10mm wider, I'd need a 27mm spacer?

Wheels you have narrow body hence 67ET, on my 11" wide wheel on C4 (295 tire) I run 36ET.... so 30mm less than you.
Proper Carerra Sport wheel for C4/C4S comes at 50ET, this means 17mm spacer at minimum, but you can go even more aggressive.
Carerra Sport WB(C4 / C4S ) specs
GT3RS (997) runs 12" at 51ET - same chassis as C4/C4S and Turbo cars (WB)
This mean you can still go additional 5mm without any issues, and if you want decently flush setup 10mm extra would be okay as well so this means 20 to 25mm spacer for conservative and 30mm spacer for HELLAFlush look!

the reason this oem wheel has this issue is that they only made them in NB rear fitment only.
Thoughts on slapping a 5mm spacer on top of the current 17mm?

As many have mentioned, this is a factory setup for the early years 2006-2008 c4s. When you add, or i should say subtract, the 17mm spacer it is equivalent to having a 50mm offset wheel. In later years I believe the did make a factory rear wheel with 50mm offset . You can tell because those have a deeper concave look on the rear.
I experimented with this a while ago, but I only added a few more mm and got a 21mm spacer. I think adding 10 may be a bit much, but every one has their own desired look.
The design of the spacers will not allow another spacer to be placed on top. The lug bolts are in the way.
21 mm spacer aftermarket on left. Porsche OEM 17mm spacer on right.

Put my specs and your specs in the Willtheyfit calculator and it will tell you the difference.
That’s how I have always done it.

I don’t think, insert opinion here, Porsche would ever sell a car with wheel spacers as such, a 3 mm spacer is the only factory option I have ever seen.. The liability would be entirely too great. Likely, a dealer or a previous owner added spacers to compensate for the incorrect spec wheels currently on your car. If you don’t already have a copy of the original build sheet one would document exactly which wheels your car left the factory with.

Not one photo of your wheels?
I'm Lobster Fork lover but yours look like their nice design - Would like to see a side shot photo

Separately, it looks like your car is sitting on stock springs. Sounds like you're chasing a more aggressive stance so have you considered lowering it with lowering springs or coilovers? That along with spacers brings it all together imo. Chances are you'll get spacers and get the flush look but you'll still have that annoying (to many) gap between the top of the tire and the fender. H&R springs closes the gap nicely with a 1.25" drop while the Eibach and Techart springs both drop it about 1" even. With coilovers as you probably know you can dial in whatever drop you want. At a price though...
