Default Speaker upgrade

Hi All
with a pending installation of a NM Automotive unit, I am also keen to upgrade the speakers on my 997.2.
Rennspec used to do adapters and ready-made wiring kits, but they seem to have disappeared unfortunately.

Has anybody any experience of doing same, tips, recommendations of decent compatible speakers, guides etc?

Many thanks
Paul

2009 C2S 179K miles

I did Focal speaker replacement on mine... lotsa work... dremeling etc required even for your two L/R dash speakers. If you are keeping the center speaker, you may have an issue. I kept it as the 997.2 amplifier uses this center channel as a full range speaker. I could not find a larger Focal alternative so I kept the Bose speaker. You may have a problem in that this speaker is more efficient than aftermarket units and therefore will play louder and the balance will be all off. Some just disconnect it. I kept it and installed a volume control (potentiometer) to attenuate its volume. Read here for how to wire this thing.

My 997.2 is without Bose. Will that make it any easier?

No Bose is good!

Make sure you soundproof the doors while you're in there
