Classic Hardtop?

Classic Hardtop?
Hey, everyone!
I was wondering if anyone here has any recent information on the "Classic Hardtop" that was developed a few years ago by a company called GTN Automotive and distributed state-side by the now-defunct(?) VeloTech Automotive. It's basically a non-993/996/997 targa-styled hardtop for the 997 cabriolet, as the name suggests. From what I can tell by searching through and reading through the old Rennlist threads and news articles I could find, it seems like the reception was fairly poor due to the polarizing looks and the high price tag. Since those threads, though, I haven't seen people mention it all that much.
As I am trying to hunt down a used example stateside, I figured I would try asking people directly (here) if I missed any leads.
I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, by the way. Thanks!

I am a fan of Targa hardtop and have been searching for a good one for a long time without much success. Recently, I contacted GTN and found out that they can still produce products for the 997 model, although the prices are still high. I am still debating whether to make the purchase or not.

What exactly is a "targa" hardtop?
My neighbor has a 997 cabrio, and has a hard top for it that I assumed was factory.

I know what a Targa top looks like, I'm just asking how that would fit onto a cabriolet car? Especially a 997!
So let me get this straight:
It's a two piece hard top ( mimics the Targa look ), that fits onto the car when the soft top is down?

Yep, it's a two-piece situation that you attach like a standard hardtop (I think)! Here's an old thread on the thing from back when the 997 was being produced new: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...oks-great.html
They look like this when on the car. I always thought they looked really neat (and Porsche seems to agree based on the way the 991/992 Targa looks), but judging from what I've read, it was pretty divisive fourteen years ago!
Either way, it looks like not many are in circulation, which makes sense given how niche the product is. It's a neat oddity in the 997's lineup of accessories, though.

Woah, nice! Thanks for the pics; it looks pretty good on your cab! Did you have to ship the car over to Germany to have them fit it? I remember them saying something about that when I asked them a couple of years ago. Also, did you have any any sealing or noise issues with the way the window mates to the silver frame?
(Also, I like the pinstripe! I never considered it on a 997, but in my opinion it works here lol)
