Default Throttle response

Ok now that I have the chassis of my car mostly dialed it’s time to start with some of the other things that aren’t as sharp as I’d like, mainly throttle response. I have a non S .2 and I’d like it to feel a little crisper if that makes any sense. Even my cayenne has a way sharper feeling throttle response in sport mode. I know that there isn’t a lot of potential to increase HP and I do have a sharkwerks X pipe but is there a proven way to just get the .2 cars to feel more aggressive?
I’m in CA so if I was to use an aftermarket tune I would need to be able to go back to stock because of the new emission stuff I’ve been hearing about regarding tunes. So I think that kinda rules out any custom tune. And just pushing the throttle faster isn’t what I’m after, I know that’s response is coming lol! A GT car would be the best solution but that’s going to have to wait a minute.
thanks in advance for any good advice, pic just because 🍻

Have you considered a Sprint power booster? I had one on my 996 and it made a big difference in throttle response. Best of luck!

another rec for the Sprint booster - has various settings and it works. Worth a try for less than $300 clams

Amazed to see a few positive reviews of the sprintbooster without someone (almost always someone who has never actually tried one) chiming in to say “snake oil” or “just press the pedal down harder!” It’s like they take pride or have a personal vendetta against the product, very frustrating.

I too have one on my car and love it.

Noticeably sharpens up the throttle and makes the car much more enjoyable.

Best $300 you’ll spend on your 911.

On my Benz I had installed the Pedal Commander and just loved the responsiveness.

Had it on my list for mine - however - as I read more about the Sprintbooster, I’m really liking the lockout and valet features, and for the same price, I think Sprintboost is the pick

How do you guys use this?
Find a favorite mode and set and forget, or leave the dongle attached and adjust the mode on the fly to the conditions?
Rare to see cheap fun and Porsche in the same sentence.

You adjust to what feels good to you and then you change it up once it feels too familiar, for a few months its "green" at 7; lately I'm at a 4 green and just took a long drive yesterday on nice highway; the response was so nice , super crisp going from 65 to 100 like nothing for short bursts at just a little nudge (1/8 inch nudge?) on the go pedal. Some of the settings in red "race" could be a little much, too sensitive, for the lower gears. Anyway its worth trying in my opinion.

+1 on Sprint Booster. I run mine on "green 9"...with sport mode activated! Race mode is far too sensitive for my taste.

I also have a Sprint Booster ready to install on my Macan Turbo (which could really use some help on throttle response).

I’m super surprised to hear so many good things about that product, I never would have thought about trying it without that feedback. Do you have to set it every time you start a new drive? That’s one thing I don’t like about the factory sport mode.
I was expecting more info about the off the shelf tunes that are available, do any of them seem to actually sharpen the throttle response noticeably? It needs to be good for how expensive they are compared the $300 throttle commander stuff lol!

No need to reset. It stays set at the same level that you last left it on.

Didn't want to disappoint 850tgul, so here you go....LOL

A cold air intake will sharpen your throttle response.

Aside from the convenience features, The Sprint Booster just augments the signal from the throttle pedal switch to the throttle body, so at say half throttle you're giving it 75% throttle. This is why the graph flattens out at the end of the curve in their sales literature and the more aggressive the mode the longer the flat part at the end of the graph. To take it to the extreme, you could make your throttle pedal an on off switch between idle and full throttle, but that would be undriveable. The more aggressive the mode you select, the less acuity and control you'll have at the pedal, but will make the car seem faster. If you want to test this theory, just grab your Durametric and log pedal position and throttle body sensors on your car before installation and then after installation in the various modes and you'll see that for the same pedal positions it's boosting the signal that controls the throttle plate at the motor.

If you like it, great. I don't even like the lact of acuity in Sport mode. The chart below shows 3 modes. In race mode (red) you can see that about 60% through the pedal position graph, you're at 100% throttle. Green sport mode has you at full throttle at about 75% of pedal travel. Yellow is the stock relationship. You can see they also give you signal boost blip very early on before becoming more linear.

Sorry to the fan boys that think this makes your car faster, but that's all it does, again, aside from the convenience and security features, which are actually pretty cool.
