Kline Exhaust for 997.2 Carreras?
Does anyone know if Kline still offers exhaust systems for 997.2 Carreras?
On their site, they’ve got options listed for the .2 Turbo, .2 GTS, and .1 Carrera, but nothing for the .2 Carrera.
I am pretty sure they offered something in the past because there’s two semi-recent videos on YouTube showing Kline systems installed on .2 Carreras:
Judging by the videos, I like the sound. Kind of subdued & whooshey on startup with a smooth linear tone when revved.
Anyone hear a Kline system in person?

@ATX_Native Interesting…
So the exhaust system on the Flat 6 Motorsports site is listed as being compatible through 2012 Carreras, but it appears to be the same system from the Kline website where it doesn’t list compatibility even though some of their other exhausts specifically say .2.
Heres the link to what I think is that same exhaust on Kline’s website:
https://www.kline-innovation.com/exh...e-997-exhaust/
Are .1 and .2 Carrera & Carrera S exhaust systems the same (outside of the stock .2 system having a third center muffler, which most aftermarket solutions would probably eliminate anyway)? I mean the two generations of 997 literally have different engines, so I’d assume the header bolting locations to the block would be at least slightly different, no?
And @SupremePower are the systems you listed the same as the above? You labeled them specifically as “.2 / GTS” so does that make it the GTS system on Kline’s site? Is that system compatible with non-GTS Carreras?

And note, I reached out to the Kline rep here on RL recently (Felix) but haven’t heard back from him yet. I can try emailing the company for clarity but thought I’d ping the community here first.

Awesome - thank you so much for confirming that it’s the GTS system that works on the regular Carreras! I guess I should have known that since the GTS is an S w/X51, meaning there should be no difference underneath any of the Carreras if you’re starting out with new headers. If one were to go cat-back only, I’m not sure if that’s also the case, because doesn’t the X51 come with its
own unique headers?
own unique headers?

I went to a local shop in Oakville (Canada), initially enquiring about Akrapovic for my GTS. They recommended Kline, but I had a bit of sticker shock when they gave me the quote - over $15k CAD for the full system (including the 200 cell manifolds).

KLINE Rear Valvtronic System $5114
KLINE 200 Cell Manifolds $3706
TOTAL $8820 = 11K CAD. Not sure where the other 4000CAD is going.......
If you want to get a quote please shoot us a msg and we would be happy to assist.

Sorry, I should have clarified that the quote I received was for inconel not stainless.

Hi, I have a 997.2 Carrera 2S (2011) and I purchased at end of last year a complete stainless steel exhaust system (headers w. 200 csi cats + 2 side mufflers + 1 central x-pipe. No valves as it is not PSE) directly from Kline Innovation in Romania.
Talked mainly to Rares and eventually with Felix, who seems to be the boss.
I confirm that the system they sell for the 997.2 GTS is valid for all 997. 2 Carreras (base + S). It comes with gaskets for the headers and the straps for the x-pipe. The gaskets joining the headers with the x-pipe were not included.
I have installed it in my car and after 5 months my comments are as follows:
- The sound is nice and loud with cracking from 4.000 revs. It does not trigger the check engine light. However, at low revs, it has a drone that is a bit annoying, less with windows open. I guess it is the price to pay for the sound upgrade.
- On the track, it clearly exceeds the 95 dB noise limitation that is applied by most Spanish tracks (Jarama, Montmelo, Cheste,..). So you have to slow down here and there..
- The fitment, in general, is good but it is not perfect.
= The connection for the oxygen sensor on the right header is misplaced a couple of centimeters and collides with the heat shield creating some flutter at low revs.
= Also, the headers do not have the same shape as the OEM (see concavity in the photo of OEMs). That concavity is needed to avoid contact with the heat shield too. I had to bend the heat shields at both banks to allow the space needed.
= The straps tightening the central x-pipe to the subframe had different lengths not fitting correctly (see photos). These are minor things but it is a very expensive exhaust.
- I kept my OEM exhaust tips to maintain the OEM looks. Their fitment of the tips is OK up/down wise and left/right wise. But the fitment has a tiny deviation in/out wise when you look at both sides from above. Nothing dramatic anyway.
I wrote to Rares and Felix some weeks ago pointing out these issues (only for their future customers not asking for any remedies) but never heard back from them.
Also, I asked them to provide me (paying) with new straps but no reply either.
Having spent quite some money I did not expect them to disappear. ...Surprising!!
In summary, I have to honestly say that the product and quality are fine but these small issues and the inexistent after-sales support have killed the experience with Kline for me.
Available to comment further if anyone is interested.

the studs provided to bolt the headers with the central x-pipe are too short for they need to allow extra length to hold in between the bracing with the sub-frame.
the oxygen sensor of right bank header collides with the heat shield
Right side of the x-pipe fits a bit higher than the left one.
OEM headers have a concavity to allow for the shape of the heat shields
one of the straps provided to hold the x-pipe to the sub-frame was too short.
the oxygen sensor of right bank header collides with the heat shield
OEM strap system is better but not stainless steel.
