Battery Replacement
Have an 08C2S. Is it necessary to keep power flowing to the car when replacing the battery or, just take the old one out and install the new one? I’d heard the only thing by not keeping power flowing is that you’d have to reset radio stations at most? Thanks in advance.

I did this a couple years ago. Bought a battery from the dealer, had my trickle charger plugged into a lighter, and swapped it out. IIRC there were a bunch of warning lights initially but all was OK with a few miles.
If your trickle charger plugs into the lighter it is most likely a tender (or maintainer if you prefer that term). These generally sense the battery and only supply power if the battery is there. So in all likelihood having it plugged in made no difference and this is why you had warnings that needed to clear as you were driving.
The 997.1 Carrera Owner's manual has the details on pages 261-263 (US version).
997.2 Carrera Owner's Manual (US) has instructions on pages 263-265 (US version).
I killed my battery a few weeks into ownership. Bought a new one and swapped it in. Error codes clear within a minute or so of the first drive. I did manage to somehow screw up my “auto window down and up when opening the door and closing it” feature though. Driver’s side window drops, but won’t go back up when the door closes.

Did you try the procedure "Storing end position of the windows" (page 29 in the US 997.1 Carrera Owner's Manual) ?
Thanks.
I have done this, but it only worked for the passenger side.
Ahh... bugger. Though an unusual coincidence, but it is possible there was a coincidental failure with one of the related limit switches (I'm speculating here).
This post has a good summary of what they all do, and the possible failure modes. I'd take a look at this and see if it helps identify the problem. While it's a 996 specific post, the same applies to the 997.1/997.2 windows.

I also had a problem with a window not going up, had to replace the door lock assembly (~$180 in parts + labor costs in 2020) to resolve it.

The day I picked mine up the PO was kind enough to install a new battery just before I arrived. Nearly a year later a noticed that the cruse control dash light doesnt light up but works fine. Ive heard a battery swap might be the cause. My Foxwell doesnt help with the light but I admit I didnt dig very deep to see if I could get it active again.

Just swap the battery. I've disconnected and reconnected 997 batteries probably 10x and never had anything stop working or need to be reset. Heck, I has the one on my silver car disconnected for 4 months when working on it a couple years ago. It stayed on a tender but was disconneced from the car.
I have a CTEK MULTI US 7002. It has a "supply" mode that you can use for maintenance when working on the car and also a special "snowflake" mode for charging AGMs. Used it for almost 20 years on my Porsches and Audis, must have tool IMHO.
