Default x-pipe design Which?

I am going to get an x-pipe with 200 flow cats. Looking at Soul or Fabspeed or another vendor. Question is which design. Soul vs the traditional x-pipe? Any difference?

I bought Cargraphic 200 cell X-pipe. I bought it from Wray at BGB MOTORSPORTS in Florida.

Thanks. Thats a good vendor too. I guess what I want to know is what is the difference between Soul's cross version and the x-pipe version. I suspect it only to be sound as per their website.

I believe the cross over type gives slightly more torque higher up the rev range with the merge in the X giving slightly more torque in the lower revs.
I might have that the wrong way round but cue the eternal discussion on how big these gains are and if you can really notice them.......

So the differences are to do with sound, not power...

I have never had x-pipe design, but I do have the Soul sport cats shown above and I love them…I have them paired with Fisters and have recently purchased Soul Headers but have not put them on yet.

Build quality, fit and finish are top quality. Great communication and service from the Soul team, they are top notch!

I think its the other way around x-pipe high end, cross over low end. But like you mentioned its more on sound differences

I think to get any noticeable benefits you need to start at the Throttle body and plenum, headers, cat delete or sport cats to free flowing mufflers….then a dyno tune to optimize new components…then maybe it will be a difference you can actually feel. But the better, louder sound definitely makes it feel faster.

Correct me if I am wrong but it appears that Soul's design is basically the stock design except with the high flow cats. Stock design below.

There's some pulse sequencing and scavenging benefit from the X-pipe but really only if you have equal length long tube headers also. If not doing those types of headers, then I'd do the OEM style crossover pipes. If doing the headers too, then the X-pipe.

I have the full Fabspeed setup and am very happy with it, including their NLA valved mufflers (like PSE).

Thanks Pete. Your stuff is always so spotless.

I wasn't planning on getting the long headers. $1500-1700 seems a bit much for what you get. I would be looking at 4k+ for headers and xpipe. Thats a lot. . I am thinking the most bang for buck would be the OEM style with high flow cats. ....Im still chewing on which way to go....I might look into used if I can find some.

Thanks, but it only looked like that when I installed them after polishing (everything but the cats were used).

They look like this now. Too many cars to keep everything spotless and they're driver's not show cars.

Totally agree with you, Pete's RUF is absolutely flawless.

I would be more than happy to offer you our RL discount on some upgrades if it helps. Shoot me a PM or email me (John@Fabspeed.com) and I'll do my best to get you set up.

Well guys, I ended up pulling the trigger on Fabspeed xpipe with high flow cats, Fabspeed headers, and Fabspeed competition air intake. Not sure when they will be delivered though! Thanks to John Suttor for helping me out.

You're going to love it.

John is also great to work with. Just helped me out with some of their awesome gaskets for a 928 exhaust I was working on. I use Fabspeed gaskets exclusively as they're the best I've found. Perfect thickness, metal construction and never had a leak using them.
