Hello all, I recently purchased a Boxster Spyder for my father for his 80th birthday replacing his 2009 997 C2S. I need to sell the black/black unmodded (other than upgraded stereo) 997 with 6 speed and 60K miles and would love some realistic pricing help from the forum. Car is great, needs nothing and is such an amazing car as most of you know. I DD a Frankenstein 1973 RSR and was blown away with the performance and reliability of these 997s. Anyway, Rennlist has helped me with my dad a bunch and will be listing it here to hopefully go to a good dude that is an enthusiast so I am not looking for absolute top dollar, just a fair price.
Very nice of you buying that Spyder for your father. For the 997.2 I would ask 63K and accept 59 - 63K. There were far less 6 speed's made which should help move this car more quickly. Good luck with sale.

Unless your dad's car has a lot of exclusive options, I'd say the market for a standard 2009 C2S is going to be mid-50s. Bring a Trailer is a good place to list it.
Here's a quick 2009 example of one that recently sold. It has almost half the miles are your father's car and sold for just $57,500.

I just did a search for a drivers 997 last night and this sounds right on. Response Motors is a dealer here in the Bay Area which usually has a good selection of 997's. Their website hangs up easily but you can see their listings on Cargurus which also shows price history and how long it's been listed. We all know prices have been going up but a few of their 997's have been sitting for a while and Resmo has lowered some of their asking prices. I'd start with a quote from Carvana which should be a little higher than what a dealer will initially offer you.

I agree, very upper 50's for a quick sale and a solid to enthusiast /good "dude/dudess" who will appreciate it. If you can afford to buy your 80 year old dad a new Porsche, why rack your brain over a few thou. God bless you as a good son and your dad to be in the physical and mind shape to still appreciate the Porsche driving experience.
As you're aware, the current market is hard to pin down. In the small sample you have here the valuation has about a $20K spread. I would hope you'll at least try to sell it on PCA or RL, but that's none of my business. IMO, BAT is a plague. But that's just me.
More importantly, I want to say your 80 yr-old father, now with a Boxster Spyder, is my hero. And you get second place on the podium for helping to make it happen.
Happy new year to you both!
Thanks for all the help, I have my son driving the 997 from Philly to Charleston so him and I can run through the car, service anything needed and do a paint correction and detail. I am just going to list it here and Pelican, I have yet to have a bad interaction.
I agree with Petza914. I think the manual transmission and the back story will carry a lot of weight if you stick with PCA Mart, Rennlist and Pelican. I am not sure how long your father has owned it, that with his age will help the price. I would list it at 69.5k.
I am within very close range of your father in age even though I have two manual 911s I am in total envy of his Spyder. I will encourage my boys to follow your example when 2023 rolls around!
I've done 5 plug changes in various .2 cars and never had to remove the bumper. There is a brave on the leading edge of the bumper near the tire that needs to be removed to allow you to remove the bumper rear the rear wheels. And there is a bolt on the top of the muffler that is a bit tricky. But it isn't that bad if you have a ratchet handle with a rotating head.
