Really, I just went with FF because their cable ends and Shift Right Solution worked so well and were recommended by my installer. I did the trans. mounts myself without a lift and a second jack to support the trans. while I compressed the FF inserts into the stock mount with a brake caliper spreader. The inserts seems like they won't fit until you apply some serious pressure, not mentioned in the instructions, IIRC (*use all the provided grease.)

In process I found that FF responds quickly to questions in real time. IMO, this is an issue that is regularly overthought and only goes wrong when you choose a harder bushing on a street car by introducing unnecessary NVH. There are no OEM inserts available because Porsche designed it the way they designed it. Keep in mind this is a minimal benefit, more about a desire to do a small thing because you can do a small thing, and it's fun.

Had my indy install these while replacing the clutch.

Noticeable improvement. Highly recommend.

My wife did ask why there was a half empty tube of lube in the passenger floorboard . . .

Did you ask her if she was volunteering to use the other half?

The Cantrell Website is just a tad confusing so maybe you can clear something up for me...

The upper page description states "...Urethane Transmission Mounts for the Porsche 996/997" then further down it indicates "Fits 996/997 GT2, GT3, GT3-RS and Turbo. Will not fit non-GT cars." I have a 2010 4S and want to be sure before I order (it's Saturday and I'm in a coffee shop so can't call them until Monday so figured I would ask). I like the idea of replacing the entire bushing over the simpler insert so your post is in line with what I am looking for. Did they just make a mistake on their page or are these only for GT* models?

The 996/997.1 transmission mount inserts will NOT fit the 997.2 Carreras.
