Whew, finally got the ducktail installed. Lots of learning! Eventually realized there was no need to mount the plastic intake connector from the old decklid ton the ducktail - the ducktail has a raised profile that essentially builds that part into the design. From there it was just a matter of taking a 1" hole saw and a Dremel and making an opening for the new wiring harness. Used the Foxwell 530 suggested that I bought off Amazon to clear the error code.

This week she goes into the shop to get the 12-channel DSP and Pioneer head unit installed. Gerry's illuminated door sills are on their way, much quicker than promised. And Soul performance is shipping out the exhaust at the end of this week, so the new year promises to be a good one.

Edit: Also fixed a faulty door switch causing window problems. $500 at Indy, sheesh.

Finally got my new audio system. Shoutout to Handcrafted Auto Marine in Chandler, AZ. Haven't decided whether to replace the speakers or do a custom enclosure to replace the bose subs. Also possible future additions are a front and/or rear camera.

Specs:
Pioneer AVIC-W8600NEX with wireless android auto
14-Channel Helix V Twelve DSP at 160w/ch
Sirius sat tuner

Also took the opportunity to have them hardwire the power for my radar with a cubby mounted mute button.

They needed to remove the tool kit to fit the DSP where the factory Amp went, but removing the NAV unit meant all the tool kit gear (minus the foam outline) still fits hidden

It's been one of those weeks where it feels this car just want to suck money out of my pocket. After repairing the drivers side door/window microswitch, the passenger window regulator failed, a $600 repair.

I have a system fault - airbag light that my Indy can't clear so I guess a trip to the dealer is in order. While my Indy had the car I did the following because of unknown previous history:

Brake flush
Spark plugs
Coils
Drive Belt

A new set of Michelin P4S tires get mounted on Friday to replace the 2016 tires that came with the car.

The Soul Performance factory had a COVID outbreak and all of their fab guys got sick, so the valved exhaust is running late for delivery. Hopefully shipping out by Friday and the guys at Soul offered to upgrade me to overnight shipping.

Fun times!

Props for the new steering wheel as well. To me, it really changed the feel and look of the car

it does look good. Red faced gauges in your future? Or Black? Seat belts?

not really have much desire for the red gauges. I like them, but not a huge deal for me. Interior wise, probably the painted red center console (because I hate the rubberized surface)

Love seeing other Guards Reds! Beautiful. Steering wheel swap is a future to do - maybe after DSC. My wallet is feeling a little fatigue

Car goes in on Monday for the exhaust install. And a couple days ago I bought Soul 200-cell cats from the Marketplace so they will be going on too. Trying to see if I can make a before/after video with sound.

Also installed a new set of Michelin Pilot 4S last week, big improvement.

Installed the Soul valved exhaust and sport cats today. And changed the gear fluid. First impressions: with valves open it is loud. Much louder than I anticipated. Not sure if that's due to the sport cats combination or misjudging internet videos of other cars with the exhaust. With valve closed its not much louder than stock - 10% perhaps?

I'll be working to get a video of valves open vs closed inside and outside and see if I can post it soon. Will be taking it on a 6 hour drive to Vegas on Friday where I hope to evaluate it much more.

It's March Christmas!

Going on this week:
  1. DSC Controller
  2. Softronic Tune
  3. Flat 6 intake elbow kit.

Lined up for March:
  1. Lowering springs
  2. Spacers
  3. Illuminated Sills

The new parts should make up for the lack of exciting roads here in my new residence in Kansas.

Congrats on the new'ish ride. Love what you have done so far. I recently added black Lobster's, look great but what a pain to keep clean. And also have the same Soul tips!

Still haven't done too much internally! Would love to leather wrap the center console, upgrade the wheel to a more modern one with MF. Of course there are the new style LED tails I could upgrade to. And a set of Turbo wheels would be nice! Front bumper and hood could use refinishing aftwr that, and I really should get in my order for SOUL headers.LOL what a never ending money hole of fun.
