Default Sport Seats or Comfort Seats

Looking at picking up a 997 and looking for info from anyone who has experience with both the Sport Seats and Comfort Seats. I've tried the comfort seats, they work for me but a little more bolstering would be nice. Unfortunately I'm not able to try out the sport seats easily, so hoping someone can comment on how much side bolstering is increased on the seat back and seat bottom of the sport seats over the comfort seats. I'm not a small person and some cars with aggressive bolstering are uncomfortable, to me. My use case is street driving/weekend car, track driving is not a priority, however it might happen.

Anybody think the Sport Seats are uncomfortable because they are too narrow?

I find the ASSeats supremely conformable - but I'm 5"6 and under 175...my 6'4" ogre of a friend found them no good (and barely fit in the car to boot...)

I'm 6'1" and ~225lbs and find the Adaptive Sport Seats in my 05S to be the most comfortable seats I have ever had in a car.

That said, I have both the thigh and kidney bolsters at maximum "open", and I think if you were any bigger/wider than me the seats would be too small. At my current size the pressure I put on the side bolsters causes some rubbing against the center console. It's a good incentive for me not to gain weight!

If you were in the Denver area you'd be welcome to sit in mine and check it out.

Appreciate the feedback, sounds like they would probably work for me, and also incentivize good eating habits. Thanks!

The comfort seats are anything but that to me, whereas the sport seats are fantastic the difference is the shape of the backrest and the wing supports for the shoulders on the sport seats whereas the narrowing backmof the comfort seats comes up just inside my shoulder blades and causes pain. My wife's car has the comfort seats whereas all my cars now have the sport seats. The sport seat is so good i out them into two 928s and made an office chair out of another one.

I'm 6'1" and 200 lbs.

Man I'd love to retrofit these ASSeats in my car. How hard it is to find them?

LA Dismantler usually has a set or check the Marketplace here where they show up from time to time. They're about $1,250 each for the manual ones (power recline) or $2,000 each for the full power ones.

I think I have the middle of the road seats - full power but I don't have those switches/toggles at the front of the seat. I'm 5'9" and 165lbs on a good day and honestly, the side bolsters hit me in the shoulder blades. I don't hate them but I can't see myself in this car for 3 hours at a time with that issue.

Comfort seats suck. I’ve gone from comfort to sport to gt2 cf. Never did try the adaptive ones.

I don’t think the bolsters are overly aggressive on the manual sport seat.

if you get a car with memory comfort seats, you can replace with sport seats with very minor modification to get power to the reclining motor.

I am 6' and about 225 as well and the Adaptive Sports Seats are the most comfortable seats or chairs I have sat in period. I just drove from LA to the South Lake Tahoe foothills and back for Thanksgiving with my old man skater chronic injuries and just old man creaks and cracks and pains and I never adjusted the seat or felt uncomfortable once. to compare, I had a B8 Avant Prestige with the sports seats and all the extended leather... and the whole way I would be fiddling with the seat because every 2 hours or so, my body would be screaming from those things. Everyone is different but for daily driving and touring, I have never had better seats in any car, including multiple sets of recaros and etc.

I do love the ASSeats in a friend's GTS that I had the privilege to spend many hours in. Never uncomfortable.

My comfort seats on the other hand are not comfortable at all. The back bolsters cut into the inside of my shoulder blades and I must brace my knees against the outside wall and center console to not get thrown out when cornering.

But the ventilation feature in the Comforts would be hard to give up.

These are truly First World problems!!!

I have the sport adaptive seat and love them.
I'm about 6' 200-205lbs. Normal driving have the "open" bit when on track, I can close them up a bit to few even better. Although the leather is a little slippery.

I echo these two sentiments about the Adaptive Sport Seats being very comfortable, I too am 6' and about 225 give or take a long drive for a milkshake. Just drove 8 hours in my new to me 2008 C4S and found them very comfortable. My wife specifically said they were in a different universe compared to my former BMW seats (they rivaled/exceeded my Volvo S60 upgraded seats as well).

Another vote for Adaptive Sport Seats (***).
None better.
Light Weight Buckets (LWB) look way cool, may happen to fit your torso perfectly (or not).
For street use, on actual roads and on longer drives, I can see zero benefit to a non-adjustable LWB seat.
YMMV, of course.
(I am 6'4 185 lb. with 32" waist, shoulders on the broad side)
