Recently purchased a 2012 Carrera 4 GTS and I have a siren type alert sounding from dash the lasts about 2 seconds right after starting. Looked on forums and even called local dealer and service guy wasn't familiar.
No other warning or indication of a problem. Just need to now if something is wrong.

Thanks,
Does the car have any aftermarket adds ? (Alarm system, radar detector, radio, etc?) Would recommend using a code reader to determine if any error codes are evident in the system which would suggest cause.
Checked everywhere for LED indicators but could not find any. I’ll try to attach a sound file.
Haha, sorry to laugh but that is pretty funny. Definitely *something* aftermarket and not OE. Have you checked your fuse box (drivers foot well) for additional connections? Look for a new wire coming into an added fuse in an unused location. Also check under the dash for an added wiring or a speaker tucked away somewhere.
In case anyone is interested. I found the culprit. SWAT GPS tracker. Supposedly an “option” from dealer like like Lo-jack. Makes noise if not active subscription. Also read that dealers use them for various reasons i.e. insurance rates, theft recovery, and last but not least Repo!

I'm interested. Nice job tracking down that tracker !
