Default Gundo Hack in SoCal

Hi everyone. I’m looking for a shop to modify my factory side cans with a Gundo Hack. Any shop recommendations in Long Beach or surrounding cities?

Thanks for the lead. Did they remove the mufflers from the car or did you take the mufflers to them?

Try searching first, just go to Google and type in something followed by Rennlist.

There are quite a few threads out there.

Thanks, most of the threads I found noted some shops that were quite far from LBC, but I’ll give it another shot. I’m really hoping to find somewhere that’s full service and can take the cans off the car and do the work.

I’m in San Diego and have run into the same difficulty (as it’s my daily and I don’t have another car sitting around to transport the cans). Shops I’ve talked to either don’t seem interested or would tell me it’s not worth the price for the labor to take them off and put them back on. Heck, one guy even told me he’s plenty busy with Priuses and catalytic converters and he basically does that all day now.

This guy is great. He did work on my classic Corvette a while back, very approachable fellow that went above and beyond on the install. And yes, he would do full service and is close to you: http://www.longbeachmuffler.com/ I would for sure call him up and chat.

This is great. I know exactly where that’s at. I’ll actually stop by there this week and have them see the car so they can give me an accurate quote. Thanks again for the lead.

stopped by Long Beach Muffler and spoke with Dennis. Unfortunately he passed on the job. Didn’t feel comfortable taking the cans off the car. Said he could weld the bypass in if I brought the silencers in for him. He’s also booked three weeks out for any work. Search for a full service shop continues…

I was told the same by American Muffler here in San Diego, specifically not wanting to deal with taking off and on the cans. Seems like these guys see Porsche and a combination of unfamiliarity and fear make them not want to mess with it.

Although not in Long Beach, you can go to Kenz Muffler in Oxnard. This is a real place that can and will make anything- perfectly.
They did a friend of mine 997.1 hack with no problems . Actually a famous place if you follow old time racing. Give them a call , they have done this many times. Work is perfect or better.

San Pedro Muffler in San Pedro, CA.

Ask for Tim.

He has done it for me on two different cars, but I brought him the mufflers.

I’m pretty sure he can do the complete job if you don’t want to mess with taking them off yourself.
