Wait... Are they made of glass or plastic?

Nice. I was in touch with them as well but it didn't make sense to ship down to them.
Are you upgrading any internals while you are in there?
I know they offer some options...

I am .

There was another rennlister who did a light upgrade with them that made the light output insane. I was thinking it would be a good thing to do while changing out the covers. I definitely have been on some country roads in the winter that made me want a little more light...

Found it.

I like that it keeps the stock look but makes them way brighter.

THe bixenon lens glass lens could be upgraded with a clear lens. Maybe lithtwerkz will sell just the lenses so the upgrade can be done diy. That plus some better d2s bulbs will make a huge difference in light output.

Actually when I talked to lightwerkz about getting just the lenses from them they suggested there were tons of vendors out there who sold them (but didn't actually provide one). That was around the same time I was reading on this thread.

I already got a set of brand new bulbs from them but since I am doing the lens replacement I just figured I upgrade some of the internals as well. Dark country roads be damned.

You can get the clear lenses from TRS. I have a set in mine.

Great find. Interested to see more info on how to remove the lens and reinstall.

But...are these only for the 997.2? The 997.1 doesn't have that silver band. They label these as the same but I'm not sure they are.

My headlight was attacked by a tumbleweed recently, so I ordered a set of these from Aliexpress for $320. I would imagine there isn't more than one company making these. Finally installed them this weekend and couldn't be happier. I ended up painting the lights while I was at it.

The covers weren't glued yet in the photos below so they aren't pushed all the way in. The first photo shows a defect that was present on both covers, its not very visible once properly installed. Other than that they were pretty identical to the originals as you can see in the photo.

I like how you repainted the insides of the lights. What paint did you use and how are they holding up?
