I was shocked at how bad the condition of a 2012 C4S was that was being offered as CPO recently. body trim panels were misaligned (dealer realigned them after I pointed it out); windscreen was starting to delaminate; and drivers PDLS light casing was chipped. Also paint was pretty bad with swirls (it was black) and while I was trying to get it PPI'd; they sold it sight-unseen to a buyer in Oregon...
If it was me (and it as I am looking right now) I would PPI it.
CPO cars can get much worse than that believe it or not. In case you haven't read this epic thread, it almost reduces CPO to nothing above a non CPO car except for the 2 year coverage. For overall condition of the car it means nothing to me anymore having read your story and this.
Yeah, the 12 year PDK service was approx. $1k USD at the dealer.
Seems very cheap. I'd double check what work was done. You need fluid changes of the AWD controller, PDK fluids, front diff, plugs (maybe coils if original), coolant flush, oil/filter and PDK pan replacement at 12 years.

Reason: added additional work.

I was trying to estimate just the PDK service without taking out my receipt. I did the 12 year PDK service and the AWD controller fluid - a bit less than $1300 all in.
The other stuff has been done or will be done at an indie, just wanted to do PDK service at the dealer.

The deal fell through. I'm happy and sad. I think it was overpriced and I was too emotional. It was a Targa 4S for almost $86k. Looking at others online I think it was 20k over priced but with no inventory on that trim available I'm not sure. They said they wouldn't even take a few hundred off the price. I got my deposit back last night. This morning they list the car again at $1000 less. WTF? I would have thought a dealer at this level would be better.
I'm looking for an 09-11 C4S cabriolet. Wife would feel better about saving $30-40k too. Will that Targa go up and I'll regret passing on it? Who knows... Not that it's reflecting current market conditions but trade in and private party pricing on it was around $55k on KBB. I don't want to be upside down in it if I needed to sell it for some reason.

The search continues...
Something good will turn up...
