Default Aero Kits

Hi, I am a new owner to a 997.1 C2S with an aero kit. I need to replace the front aero kit skirt, chin spoiler. Everyone seems to call it a different name. I want to know what options I have to replace this item and the approximate cost to replace. Thanks!

I bought mine off of ebay for $100

search "GT3 Style Front Lip (PU) Fit 07-08 Porsche 997 GT3 / 06-08 911 997.1 w/ AeroKit" and that should get you there,

An alternate option, although I think they too sell from eBay

Thank you for the suggestions!! Maybe a few follow up questions. How pleased have you been with durability and quality? Also, are these all black? If so, have you had yours painted and how did you paint it(by a shop you trust)? Lastly, why not order from your local Porsche dealer or independent shop?

The real aero-kit front lip is a body color fiberglass piece. It is easily scraped up and damaged. Many people replace it with a GT3 style lip which fits perfectly. It is cheaper and made of polyurethane so more flexible and less prone to damage. Available from Porsche and some aftermarket sources on EBay. I get the GT3 lip and cut it down about a half inch. Also you can add self adhesive L shaped door guard to the bottom. It comes in several colors so you can change it depending on your mood.

I have a factory aero kit front bumper cover and the lower lip is NOT fiberglass. It's some type of polyurethane

Matt, you are correct sir. I still have my original aero front lip hanging in my garage. I had it repaired several years ago and they fiber glassed the inside of it so that had just stuck in my mind. Still, the black GT3 lip seems to hold up much better since there is no paint to scratch off and I use the door trim strip as a sacrificial piece.

I'm a new 997 owner as well and went the ebay route to replace the aero lip on my car.

Fitment was great and I figured it would last about a year. However, I'm lowered on H&Rs and need to replace it already, steep inclined driveways are the main culprits. I decided I'll just spend the money and get a new one through FCP and use their lifetime warranty when I need it replaced.

I read someone was running an aero bumper without the lip and tried that, but it looks like trash (no disrespect).

Thanks for sharing nydog! What is FCP and can you please talk more about the lifetime warranty?

As of today, I still have not ordered anything. I had the local dealer do a temporary fix(they added a screw to keep mine in place) while I figure out what works for me. I believe the broken one I have may have come from EBay, as it doesn't match the color of my car but since my car is black the polyurethane material doesn't "look" wrong. I agree with the comment regarding raised driveways, as this is where I broke mine. I have also heard that Suncoast is selling two chin spoilers. One is likely the OEM part for $395 but needs to be painted. The other spoiler is a GT3 option and its like $795. I'd like to know how strong they are, whether it's worth "paying up".

This is a GT3 replacement part for 2007-2008 GT3 911. Description says nothing about fitment for 997 C2S models with aerokits.

Porsche Lip Spoiler - Genuine Porsche 99750598398 | FCP Euro

That is the same part number I ordered for my car. The photo on their web site looks exactly the same as the lip I'll be replacing, see photos of my bumper and lip. I'm also pretty sure the GT3 lip is the one used on the aero kit bumper because it's the same bumper... Other please correct me if I'm wrong.

In any event, I'm expecting to have the lip this week so I'll let you know how it works out.
