Insurance
I have an '07 C2S which I've owned for a few years. Love it, but like many here don't drive it as much as I should/want. Almost criminal, I've put about 2000 mi/yr on it since I bought it.
In the past I've seen posts where folks get policies that have what I consider VERY low premiums - a few hundred bucks per year, for full coverage, given limited use as above. I've never been able to find such a policy. I've been with USAA and pay $1200ish/yr for the car to sit most days. I've tried Hagerty and others, with quotes similar to what I've already got. Am I doing something wrong, or are these minimal use policies a pipe dream?

Keep in mind that switching to collector car insurance usually means agreed or stated value (agreed being preferred). This protects you from carrier low ball settlement offers if there is a loss.
I’m on the waiting list to get a Raby 4.0L next year and I wanted to move to an agreed upon value policy insurance carrier once it gets installed for obvious reasons. My current policy with USAA does not have that option. I checked into Haggerty, but the problem is Haggerty with the agreed upon value is mileage restricted and I can only drive to car shows
or the like. Does anyone have an reasonable agreed upon value policy to cover around10k miles/ yr and no restrictions on how/where I drive( not counting track obviously) ?
Thanks.

To update, I've found a policy for $830 annually for $45K agreed value - American Collectors Insurance. Had never heard of them but apparently they're associated in some way with USAA. That value may not represent the market now (too low perhaps), but it's a bit more than I paid 4 years ago. Still researching.

I've posted insurance info several times over past 15 years on RL. I too barely drive my Porsche and have always wanted a good policy where I can garage the car and dontinue to drive it on rare occasion.
Insuring a sports car and getting great rates really depends on how long you have been a customer and how many propertties/boats/vehicles you are insuring with said company.
I used Hagerty starting about 25 years ago but their rates couldn't come close to what my Allstate agent can do for me these days.
If you have several houses/rental houses/ cars/etc insured with the same company the rates are very easy on the wallet. Not sure what your particular situation is but if you do have lots of stuff insured with same company they work with you.
Insuring my Porsche for agreed $45,000 value, it works out that I pay less than $400-$500 a year.
The way it works is the policy is put in system at $1200/year but then the car can be put into suspense the day after the policy is written.
When the car is in suspense, the cost is $30/month. When I want to use the car, it is taken out of suspense for minimum 30 days at $100 for those 30 days. The car can then be put back into suspense for a minimum of 30 days.
**I am allowed to use the car 1 day every 30 days without any extra cost. This has been nice for going out to dinner/Sunday drives/etc.
This system has worked well for me over the past 6-7 years.
