Default 2009 4S Wheel Size

Anyone running 20x9 and 20x11 wheels on your 997.2's? I have a 2009 4S and would like to run 20" wheels but do not want to screw things up with the cars suspension and brake systems. I have the stock 235/35/19 on the front and 305/30/19 in the rear. I would like to step up to 245/35/20 in the front and 315/35/20 in the rear. Any issues or concerns with this? Thanks for the help.

Most are going to say stay away from 20" wheels on a 997. The general consensus is they ride worse compared to a well fitted 19 with appropriate offsets and tires. People say it looks sort of funny also but to each their own. People have done it but most say leave the size and lower it if the look is what your after. I think H and R springs are next on my list personally to get the look right and tighten up the drive.

Gotcha! I have no problem staying with the 19' if this is the case. I definitely don't want to do anything to screw things up. I tried to sech the OEM offsets for my stock 2009 Carrera 4S but couldn't find anything. Do these wheel sizes and offsets look correct for the OEM stock wheels? Front = 19x8.5 (5x30, +55) and Rear = 19x11 (5x30, +67). Below is the information I found but need to confirm it is right. I know the tire size is right and I have confirmed this on my car but I am not sure about the rims.

911-997 4/4S/Turbo

Front = 19x8.5 Offset = 55 (235/35R19)
Rear = 19x11.5 Offset = 67/50 (305/30R19) Porsche ET50 with 17mm spacer

These are the offsets for a narrow body and wide body car from my 09 C4S owners manual.

Both fit, but the sizes are stamped on the insides of the wheels.

Thanks Jaws1; I found it on the outside lip. Front shows a 8 and 57 and the rears show 11 and 51. I assume the 57 and 51 are the offsets? If so, does this idea makes sense when ordering aftermarket wheels? If the front have an offset and 57 and I have a 7mm spacer and I am happy with the fit and look, when ordering the new aftermarket wheel I would want a 64mm offset. Same for the rear. The 51 shown the the OEM wheel plus my 15mm spacer for a total of 66mm. I know this is a stupid question but I never sized wheels and just making sure I am thinking correct. Yes sir, I am a newbie.... Thanks.

Wrong way with the offsets - you’ll want 50 (57-7) and 36 (51-15) respectively.

That is what I thought I would be confused on. The wheel spacers we purchase are +7mm and +15mm. I was thinking I would screw that up.....

Skip the 20s and find some used forged 19s you like in good offsets that won't require spacers. Never has the same wheel from the same manufacturer in a 20" size been lighter than that same wheel in a 19" size and that unsprung weight effects acceleration, braking, and handling, not to mention 19s just look better on a 997 due to fender well shape.
