I agree that if you really want a manual you should get a manual. You don’t want regret your decision. Personally I have a pdk and love it. There are times when I wish I had a manual and there are just as many times when I’m glad I don’t.

ilovemaui, I understand what you are saying. I would probably find myself with the same situation. Sometimes I like the PDK and other times I would like the manual. Just not sure what to do...🤣

The bright spot with a manual is that if you buy one and change your mind you can wait a month and probably get more than what you paid for it. Can’t necessarily say that about a pdk car.

Agree with most other sentiments in this thread, PDK and C4 is a huge difference that what you’re looking for. Price seems a little considering those options but as others have said who knows if they’ll come down.

997.2 cars are rare regardless of features. If you find a C2 manual, ****** it up. I bought a 997.2 C2 manual cab with 29k in March for 55k from the dealer and could probably sell it for more now already, but it’s so rare to even see them for sale prices are hard to estimate. Wait for your dream car but don’t sweat the price.

He is saying he won't take anything lower than $67k. Not sure what to do. I need a somewhat budget type car right now. COVID has been tough recovering in my profession. I had a 2019 Carrera 4S before COVID but had to sell. Just not sure if prices will come down. My perfect car is carmine red, black or tan interior, GTS or Turbo with a manual transmission. Lower miles always a plus. I know it will take some searching and good luck finding that for a fair price. Just thinking maybe buy this one for the time being until the market stabilizes so I can get my fix... Thoughts? Will resell value somewhat remain?

I get the sense you are hoping you can buy the PDK 4S and be able to sell it later for as much or more than what you paid while you look for your ideal spec. As others have said, this is a crazy market and "hoping" the market will keep up with your purchase price is not a good criterion for buying a sports car, IMO. Be as flexible as you can re: options, color, wheels, etc, but when it comes to manual vs PDK, that is a big delta in driving experience and if you truly want a manual, hold out for a manual car. It is out there and will be worth the wait.

If you get your right car, even if the market tanks, you will not regret buying it, whereas you may be left holding the bag with a PDK 4S when the economy hits the pooper one of these days. The macroeconomic indicators are wonky and don't make sense, but based on my experience and history (I'm 55), whenever markets get frothy and there is irrational exuberance from buyers (real estate, cars, boats, equities, etc) who drive up prices rapidly, it is unsustainable and eventually will pop. Do you want to be in a position of regretting having a less than ideal Porsche when that happens?

My original search back in 2012 was exactly like yours: 997.2, C4S (widebody), manual, guards red, black interior, low mileage. I looked intensively for 1 year and found no exact desired car. then I widened my search to include other body colors but held on wanting a 997.2 C4S and manual. Another year has past and I found a black C4S that has every feature I wanted, just not the first choice of color.
I still wish that my car was red, and so I have been browsing the classified for over 7 years after purchasing my Black C4S 7 years ago, but I couldn't find one. However, if I had waited for the perfect car, then I would still be on the side line after 8 years of search. There isn't many "8+ years" in your life to waste. Get the best one you can now, then upgrade as you go.

Do not buy a PDK if you want a manual. You'll regret it immediately. Get a red manual.
