Seat Vibration
I have very noisy vibration coming form passenger seat when the car is idle. I have 2011 Carrera S with 6MT.
Can anyone Identify where is this vibration/noise coming form? It is driving me nuts
Thanks inadvance

are you talking about engine mounts? Mine seem in great condition looking at them visually

curious to know the answer as well, I'd like to fix my passenger seat vibration once and for all. I temp fix it now by just adjusting the seat height up and/or down and it will stop for a bit but then keeps coming back.

Does clutch in or out when you're at idle make a difference?

Mine does this too... even with new engine mounts. If your car has around 100K miles, it is a good idea to change the mounts anyway and could help. For me, I just move the seat. Reach over and put the seat back, raise/lower/tilt etc.
I would get under the seat and see if She didn't leave a darned water bottle under there. I am amazed that someone needs their water bottle all the darned time..... etc. etc.
Peace

My 11 C2S manual had the same issue. I first tried removing the seat and tightening some bolts (search for that thread) which improved it by 25%, but my new FF motor mounts actually solved it completely. Try mounts first- they are due at this age anyway.

So if you're in neutral with the clutch pedal released, the vibration is there, but if you're in neutral and you push the clutch pedal in and hold it there, the vibration essentially goes away? That points to an issue in your clutch assembly - flywheel, pressure plate, friction discs, throwout bearing, etc. Could also be a problem in the transmission, but that's very unlikely as we see very few MT issues with this car. With the clutch pedal out in neutral, you're essentially spinning the driveline, just without a gear engaged to move the car. If that's when the vibration happens the difference is that you're spinning everything that mates to the flywheel when the friction discs engage with it. The flywheel spins all the time as it's connected to the engine so the fact that the vibration goes away means it's probably not that. My guess is on failing pressure plate or throwout bearing - sometimes the fingers actually fracture on these 997 pressure plates or when you've pulled the friction discs away from the flywheel, they're riding on the throwout bearing (this is why you shouldn't sit at red lights with your foot on the clutch the whole time - you should put the car in neutral and let the clutch out until the light is about to change, then engage 1st and hold the clutch in until it's time to pull away.

I will first replace engine mounts and go from there. I also made change in seat position and vibration is reduced a lot
