Just moved from SF Bay Area to West side of Portland area (Tigard). Looking for indie recommendation. Need to get my front brakes serviced I would normally do myself, but all my tools are in storage while I look for a house. Thanks.

I used to live in Portland and tried Matrix as they were the go-to indie. I went back and forth with the dealer in Beaverton and Matrix, and ultimately had better dealer experiences. The pricing was similar but the dealer had their stuff together and was comprehensively looking over the car each time I brought it in. Pleasant knowledgeable staff. Fair prices for a dealer and nice loaner cars. Best dealership service I’ve ever had and I’m normally one to use Indys over the dealer shops.

When lived in Portland I frequented a shop named MBI motors on Hawthorn. They are known best as Mercedes mechanics but they can surely do most all Porsche maintenance. If you visit their shop you’ll be stunned by how clean the place is. The cliche “you could eat off the floor” is nearly true. I highly recommend MBI.

Marque motors does good work; closer to PDX proper, though.
If you like to DIY but tools are tucked away, look up Gear Head Garage. Closer to you, all the tools you'll need, and the proprietor (Mike) is a great guy. Modest hourly rate to rent a lift and all the tools and shop supplies you'd need. Bring your parts and have fun.
Cheers,
JV

Matrix Integrated will be your best friends in Portland. Brian, Jesse and the crew are top notch... they have serviced all my Audi and VW cars and will be servicing my PCar when it entered my garage.

If you're willing to travel to Eugene, Eric Jones Motorsports can set you up right. He's a die hard Porsche guy. If not, AR should set you up well. If you want to use a lift, I have one out in Junction City and I can help you replace the fronts if that's all you need to do

These guys were my go to while I was PDX (now in SF): https://www.ar-motorsports.com/
I second AR Motorsport. That is where I took my C4S for alignment. Another good place is Stuttgart https://stuttgartautotech.com/

Thanks for all the suggestions. Turns out AR Motorsport is less than 5 miles away from my Corp. Apartment, so it goes to them on Thursday.
Cheers,
Steve
