Default Small coolant leak then not?

2006 C2S.

It was pretty hot yesterday and took the car to run some errands. When I got back to the car, I saw a small puddle of coolant. I check the engine and it seems to come from one of the hose (smaller one) going to the coolant reservoir. The larger one seemed wet from the top one leaking?

I carefully drove home and plan to take pictures of the issue. However, when I check the leak again it is gone! Everything is dry and it's like I imagined the whole thing!

I wish I had took pictures before heading home (lesson learned) but could it just be that it was so hot outside that the clamp didn't seal properly and somehow the seal reformed on my way back?

Water pump was done 15000 miles ago and leak seemed to be closer to the left wheel.

I'll get that checked anyway to make sure but just wondered if this ever occurred to anyone here?

Thanks!

Sounds like some came out the reservoir overflow hose. That dumps out near the left rear wheel. Has the reservoir ever been changed? They develop cracks that initially open up under pressure then seal up again.

Yup. It was changed last year as it was cracked pretty badly but I'll check for new cracks just in case.

Turns out the issue was a bad clamp. Easy fix!

I was about to reply with similar responses as above, I have replaced 2 reservoirs, one in my 997.1 and one in my 997.2. That is so awesome it was just a clamp! I guess that goes to the old saying, go back to what was last touched and start there.
