Default 2006 coupe passenger seat belt wont release

Just noticed last night the passenger seat belt is "locked " in its resting position. is there any tricks to get it to release? if not what am I looking at to get it repaired?

Belts that lock mean the pawl ratchet mechanism was activated (baby seat lock) from the belt being pulled out all the way to the limit stop. Check to make sure the belt has retracted FULLY, and the plastic slide that elevates the buckle for easy grasping is not preventing the belt from full retraction.

Try it out with a rear belt - pull it all the way out, then release and you can hear the ratchet click until it's fully retracted, then you can pull it out again.
