Dip at front of the frunk lid - Why?

v6Matt, I hear you, as my car has the exact same "bend" there, and it drives me crazy. not very visible, but I can't avoid noticing it if freshly washed.
Interesting to see that somebody else has it, but apparently not everybody...
I bought my car a year ago, so can't know with absolute certainty how the frunk was closed, neither if someone just sat their butt there.

It's from people watching YouTube videos on the proper way to close the hood where they tell you to push on the emblem. Not only does that bend the hood, but it runs the risk of snapping the fragine pins off the back of the crest. You push in front of the crest to latch the frunk correctly.
I can tell you that neither of my 997s have that hood distortion in that area even when perfectly clean and shiny (both times a year).

I think it's just how the hoods designed. The sheet metal dies are perfectly stamped. The hood just falls forward a bit harder in the front edge. Thats the beauty of a rear engine car you get real low hood height. Ours even has to keep diving forward to get below the headlights.
Plus we've all seen the room in the factory documentaries with the light bars the cars have to pass through after paint for quality control. A big hood crease on that many cars isn't getting through that room.
