Default “New” Seat installation. Now have Airbag Code

Hey Wasser-cooled brothers and sisters. First technical question...Be gentle. Purchased a pair of Sport Seats for my 12 GTS. The donor seats were off an 09 Cab. I purchased because they had Herringbone cloth seating surface and were in excellent condition.
-The Good: Removal and installation were uneventful. I unplugged battery negative. THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL! The seats are manual (like my originalas with Alcantara, and only electric is seat recline.

The Bad: I am now getting a code 8053 driver belt buckle, short circuit to B+ (when I use my code tool). The clear/reset is accepted, but airbag light comes back on. So far I have:
1. Unplugged battery for an hour.
2. Unplugged yellow plug from seat harness and reinserted.
3. Wiggled seat belt and harness cable (I reattached so cable won’t get caught in seat/rails)
4. Re-did code clear multiple times....

So what is fix if something needs replaced with this code? Thanks MUCH for help/suggestions of other trouble shooting items.

Can anyone confirm that with the airbag trouble light on dash the entire airbag system is NOT operational?

Try clearing the code if you have access to a Foxwell or iCarsoft. I had a dead battery last year that caused my airbag light to come on and stay on. Once I cleared it with my iCarsoft, it hasn't come back on since.

I have the iCarsoft POR V2.0 diagnostic tool. I couldn’t get the bag light to stay off with reset. Is there a way to “kill” the bag light with that tool? Thanks for reply.

Yes, I own an iCarsoft POR V2.0. I couldn’t get the light to stay off with code clear...

Hmm, not sure on that. How old is your battery? Since my airbag light was triggered due to a dead battery, it's conceivable that it could come back on if the battery is on its way out.

Yes, passenger bag had the weight sensor. I will see if it goes out with weight in passenger seat.

Not sure belt buckle error is related to weight sensor.

Check that specific seat’s belt buckle connector pins. They can get crushed. I’ve done it.

Since the buckle is part of the seat, it sounds like that seat has an error in the buckle or wiring. Not sure how hard it would be to swap the buckle from your old seat to the new one. I end up wire tying the integrated buckle under the seat on the ones I've installed into 928s but have never traced the wiring further to see how they connect into the seat.

Thanks for all the replies/input. Much appreciated. In the end it is likely that the seats (that I purchased overseas) were wired differently. Ended up taking to local shop this morning. They canceled the airbag idiot light and the dash passenger bag weight sensor light as the faults are due to the Euro seatbelts/seats. All good. No angry red lights yelling at me
