Personal preference. Combined with upgraded cables, the shortest setting feels precise with minimal effort to me, but the effort may be biased based on other manuals that I have.
Forgive my ignorance, this is numeric like a brand/manufacture or numeric like you can shift it similar to sport mode in a pdk? Just up and down and it does the rest ?

Is that called sequential?
negative ghost rider. It still a traditional pattern.
Shifting shouldn't be rushed. Its a delicate thing where a perfect balance could be disturbed. Unless you sprint 0-60 I don't see a big thing for short shifter. You typically don't gain time on a track either by banging through gears. besides, its easier to put a 2d instead of 4th. Enjoy.

Agree 100%- hence the top setting
I do like to chip second here and there on a back road but I was able to do that with the stock shifter haha
I agree with the comments that ‘shortening’ the shift is not a tremendous benefit.
However, the stock setup (at least in my car) has 5th gear located somewhere near my passenger’s right knee!
Getting the Numeric to reel this in and eliminate the ‘slop’.
Definitely don’t want it as short as say a 991 GT3.
