Default DEPO tail lights for 997.2.....Yay or Nay ?

Saw this on Ebay while browsing parts for my 997.1.
DEPO finally made LED tail lights for the 997.2. Think they're trying to mimic the 991 look.
The lower portion needs to paint body color or leave it black if you have a dark color car.
What do you guys think? yay or nay

What an abomination! The 991 OEM lights have grown on me. But I don't like these aftermarket ones. They are like mini 991 lights - too small. The light bars have to be full width to look good. Are there wider shot pictures at all?

Maybe for those not being proud of driving a non-GT 911

Hard pass. No. Not because they're ugly (they are) and fussy with the need to paint the filler trim, but...why? Nothing adversely ages and ruins cars more than cheap, pointless aftermarket cometic bolt ons in my opinion.

Giving that $550 a local foodbank or something would be a much better use of resources in my opinion.

Look almost as bad as when people slap trim around the 996 front headlights to make them look separated and more like the 997. I mean those 996 headlights are terrible but still better than covering them with something.

Hard pass on those 997.2 rears. The 991 lights aren't pretty, so why would you try to copy them?

How does that compare to this??

Somehow the DEPO ones look like a mutant. The painting and blending part is very difficult to achieve. If you're willing to spend more money, you can get a conversion bumper to 991 style and then use the OEM tail lamps.
$1500 or so for a 991 GT3 style conversion bumper.

That's horrendous. Not only does it cheapen the look of the 997 but it misses the mark on the 991 tail lights by a mile.
