Pulled off Oil Cap 997.2
Anyone accidentally pull the oil cap from the tube ?
I am in a 997.2 and am not sure if the replacement cap would have the plastic clip, or the entire tube assembly would have the clip. Here is a pic for reference.
Thanks in advance!

Your cap broke... The snap is the clip to the tube, not the clip to the cap. Either buy a new one, or remove the clip from the tube and live with it. I would live with it.

So a $15 replacement cap has that clip on it...?
in searching online..others have dropped their cap into the engine bay...will make sure to not do that!

Last year I noticed that my cap attachment was broken, no doubt by the tech at the dealer when they changed my oil and plugs.
I did not bother looking for a replacement.
However, watch when you pull out the oil filler tube on a 997.2. When my 2009 911S was new it would eat oil (it no longer does) and I was
always topping it off. Anyway, one day I pulled the filler tube extension out with too much force and it came off. There is a ring of about ten little plastic clips that stop the extension,
and it was impossible to get it back on. The dealer replaced the unit under warranty, which is one reason I did not gripe about the cap attachment.
