Default bike question

Anyone ever stuff a road bike inside your 911? (putting on flame suit)

Not really into a roof rack.

Not sure it would fit. I have seen nice bike racks that fit over the rear trunk lid/hatch on a 928. Problem with a 997 is the spoiler deploying I suppose. Maybe a way to disengage that?

I have a road bike and that would be the route I'd go if I didn't use my Tacoma.

I forgot about the spoiler going up, but in that pic it looks raised and clears. My only concern would be if the cups are prone to scratching the paint?

Depends on the size of the bike! I'm pretty sure I could take off both wheels and put my 50/52cm road bikes in the back seats (carefully covered and padded of course). MTB? Probably not.

I did it years ago with my 964, fit a 63cm road bike in the back. Removed both wheels, wrapped the whole thing up in a big blanket, and put it back there. Worked fine and no chain grease anywhere. Forget where I put the wheels, maybe the frunk.

Tried it once with needless to say, both wheels taken off. Could not get the frame in the back of the car after several attempts with different angles and what not. Cannondale Caad 9 road bike but a pretty big frame sized for my height at 6'3". Maybe a smaller frame would work with some tweaking and ingenuity.

Yes, it is quite possible to fit a bike into the back of a 911, but you really need to have patience. In my previous 997.1 I was able to fit my Old 56 cm Cervelo P3 TT bike into the back. Both wheels were off, but the aerobars were attached. The trick was having a housse. A housse is a nylon bag that I picked up in Europe, as they allow you to take your bike on trains but they have to be in a bag - basically, a housse is like an airline bag with zero padding. Anyway, once I got the bike in the housse it fit diagonally through the passenger door without issue. Then I packed in the wheels, and a second set of wheels ( both in wheel bags), a travel work stand, tool kit, air pump, small ice chest, and gear bag (using the frunk but not the passenger area). I’m sort of a packing savant and I never thought to take a picture b/c it didn’t seem like a big deal, and I think anyone can do it if they just think about the space. When I got to the race there were more than a few people standing around watching me pull all of the gear out - it was sort of like a clown car.

Hi Tcc1999, I'm thinking of getting a 911 to drive around with my bike. Would getting a 911 with the rear seat delete help much? The 992 version would be easier due to its larger size I presume.

Have been using the SeaSucker Talon for 3 years and has never let me down. Turns heads and has been good for bursts of up to 100mph Do it!

A small bike will fit inside but it'll be tricky maneuvering it in and out. If be worried of damaging the headliner or seats with the chainring.

I used a seasucker on my 991, no issues with spoiler. Am yet to use it on my 997 but can confirm it's happy up to 220kph (140mph).
