Default Plenum boot Seal with IPD

Anyone have trouble getting a good seal between intakes and the IPD Plenum. Would it be a real no no to maybe add some silicone sealant around the plenum intakes and then reseat the seals. I assume it is on the plenum side as the stock intake and seals never had a problem with stock clamps.

Thanks
John

I have decided to use 2" linerless rubber self adhesive tape on the mating surfaces to see if that clears anything. If that does not work I have at least eliminated one possibility..

On an S or base? Isn’t there an additional connection for an S? Anyway, be sure to trace all around to make sure everything is actually mated up. When I did mine, I thought I had it on but it wasn’t completely sealed. That thing is on so tight, I can’t imagine a leak.

I have not had a problem. Have you smoke tested it?

I took it all apart again last night and redid the boots. Still a problem. I have a MAF sensor coming today to see if that works, I cleaned mine but that did nothing. I would like to try the brake fluid trick, though I would probably use starting fluid, but car will not idle. It dies.

I hate just replacing parts. The only code I got was for the precat ox sensor, so I did replace that and that cleared. Right now I am only getting misfire codes on all cylinders left and right banks. That makes me think I still have a vacuum leak. I am doing the MAF, but I get no codes for it. If that works I will be surprised

I played with the Plenum boots and got a reseal. That cleared up my rough running and it is now not throwing codes.

Vacuum leaks are the devil 😈
