Saw this manual GTS listed on CL - https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...293835425.html
I think were in a bubble (of all the things) but it seems like as soon as one of these cars is available it is gone, its manual with sports chrono and I like the idea of the alcantara delete.

Used to be the Ruf guys. I had them do a Ruf 550 on a 2001 996tt I purchased new 17 years ago, had them do a Ruf conversion to a 964 I had almost 18 years ago and then I had some issues with them in 2005 ish when doing Ruf mods to a 2004 996tt cab I had. I would not use them again after that, but thtat was a LOOOONNNGGGGG time ago and I believe they lost or no longer a Ruf shop.

If im ok with the ~80k price for a manual coupe with sub 50k miles should I just keep waiting?
They seem rare, in that while looking ive seen 3 manuals total, and they all get scooped up quickly. I cant gauge the frequency of chances to buy as well as being the first person once that chance comes up.
Do you all see 1 a week of these for sale? 1 a month?

If you look back through this thread you will see how infrequently they have come available. The posters have been vigilant and do a good job of posting them when they see them. My guess is a manual comes up every few months. It's a difficult plum to pick! Good luck!

This reinforced what I think I see. It seems like there are a few right now, maybe coming out of winter storage, but in general the manuals ARE difficult plums to pick. Love that phrase

My guess is we will see more manual cars coming available in the next couple of months. If I were a seller I'd want to list my car starting in the spring for optimum return.
Nobody knows for sure but it looks like Porsche manufactured about 450 manual coupes worldwide from 2011-2012. http://howtoporsche.com/911-series/9...r-and-version/
if you figure 20% as being manual since PDK was so popular.
Colors and specs? I wonder how many duplicate cars are out there.

I just had a friend sell his 2012 GTS (Guards Red, 6spd., non centerlock, full leather) with 19k miles for $90k. The 6spds. are extremely hard to come by and are starting to fetch some good $$$.

I would not sell mine for less than $100k. I also paid up for it 2 years ago and these cars are very rare and deliver an experience that is hard to find anywhere else.

It's just the right level of impracticalness.

I don't think you need to worry about anyone wanting to trade their GT3 with you.

Honestly, a 997.2 GT3 makes no sense to me. Better driving, more exotic, better feeling cars for the money at the same or similar level of comfort and impracticality. I also would go a different route before paying over $100k for a GTS. Might get lucky and find a nice 458 for not much more.
